After the Haiku Mill closed Haiku grew traction as a pineapple plantation and its former cannery is now the Haiku Marketplace shopping center.

Haiku has a very rugged coastline and the closest beach is Maliko Bay Beach. That said, Nahiku Cove is an incredible place to enjoy the ocean waves powerfully crashing onto the shore amidst raw natural beauty.
